Southern Region Report: $1339 in the treasury.  Wilson Point Park, in Middle River, is now open dusk to dawn, there
are two ramps.  Pocomoke River fishing restrictions due to phisteria have been lifted.  The Black Bass stamp is being
revisited by the DNR, it would probably be $5, and all the money would go back Black Bass studies and restocking.  
Regionalization discussions are back, it will be voted on at the President’s Conference.  2 clubs made 100%, Guy
Brothers Pro Staff and Tiderunners.  Southern Region Rep. Schedule: Jan. Jeff C., Feb. Andy, March Chuck, April
Walt, May open, June Scott, July open, Aug. open, Sep. Mark, Oct. Adam, Nov. open, Dec. Denis.  Jeff will have to
take a list of officers with their e-mail addresses.


New Business: The officers for 2007 are as follows: Walt Lechert President and Treasurer, Jeff Coppage Vice
President, Chuck Doran Secretary, Tom Welsh Tournament Director.  Walt, as treasurer, presented a prospective
budget for 2007.  After much discussion by everyone about the budget and how there was not much room after
expenses a motion and second was made to increase the dues.  The club dues will now be $100 a year, for 2007 the
difference, of $24, will be due by the June meeting.  Beginning November 2007 the new dues of $100 will be affect for
the December meeting.  Every member is responsible for renewing their BASS membership, and were informed as to
their expiration date.

Old Business:  The Awards Banquet is set for February 3, 2007 at the Woodfire Restaurant in Severna Park.  The
menu was voted on, the Patuxent selection won over the Potomac 7 to 3.  The club will pay for one appetizer, mini
crab balls, for $100.  Denis will pay a deposit to hold the room and verify the time, 6 or 7 pm, he will also inquire
about us bringing our own cake, which Adam volunteered to get.

Tournament Report: Tom presented the tournament locations and the club decided on the proposed dates for the
2007 season.  They are: March 15-Falls Lake, NC, April 7-Potomac River, Smallwood, April 21-Susquehanna River,
June 2-Potomac river, Fort Washington, June 23-Middle River, Wilson Park, July 28-Choptank River, August 11-
Wicomico River, September 15-Nanticoke River, October 6-Sassafras River, October 27-Potomac River, Smallwood.  
The schedule will be finalized at the February meeting.

Southern Region Report: There are 2 new clubs: Hawg Wild and Champions Choice, 3 clubs still owe MBF dues for
2007.  Jim Adair is the new Conservation Director for the Southern Region; let Jim know of any conservation projects
the club takes on.  The Black Bass Roundtable is back on and the first order of business is pollution in the Potomac
and the restocking program.  The Raffle tickets sold at the Fishing Expo raised $290 which will be used for Youth.  
There was a discussion of raising the SQT fee to help with State Team expenses.  Bill Bennett Jr. was elected 1st
Vice President (MBF Board) and Randy Elliott is the New Assistant Director for the Southern Region; Jamie Coyle
stepped down.  Southern Region donated $500 to Kevin Waterman to help with his expenses for the Classic.  Two
Maryland Amateurs made it to the Classic this year;  Kevin, and Russell Colwell from the Weekend Series.  Southern

New Business: The By-Laws will be discussed at the March meeting, bring any changes with you.  The website has
been updated to accept applications for non-boaters.  Jeff King asked to take a leave from the club, there was much
discussion on the actions that were not taken to contact us, and the club agreed.  Crofton Homeowners Association
should be sending out a check soon, Jeff Wagner contacted Walt to let him know.  The Crofton Kids Tournament will
probably be extended to eight hours and there will be more activities for the kids to enjoy. The weigh-in area will be
moved to the rear of the pond which is a more open area.  Walt will inform Jeff of possible dates for the tournament,
June 30, August 18 and 25.  Adam paid $27 for the cake at the banquet and the club deducted the cost of it from
dues that he still owes.  Jeff will call the motel on 2/5 and block rooms for the Falls Lake tournament on March 17/18;
all will be reserved for Thursday March 15.  Everyone is responsible to call the motel and transfer the room to their
name.

members and 19 dual members.  We can receive discounts on Lowrance and Motorguide products, just call Roger
Trageser for info and number.  DNR wants to restrict out of state tournaments, they also want to ban all parking lot
weigh-ins and they need tournament info contact Ray Boras @ Ray.Boras@DNR.State.   Andy paid the dues for the
Southern Region but then was informed that we don’t owe dues because we had 100% attendance.  Southern

Deitch, he will be a non boater, he talked to Denis at Bass Pro Shop.  The following members still owe dues which
are due by the June meeting: Walt, Andy, Mark, Al, Denis, Dickie.  Next Southern Region meeting is March 26 Chuck
is to attend.

Tournament Report: Tom said that he has everything ready for Falls Lake and that he will mount the new basket for
the scale.  Some discussion was made in regards to the table and sink and we decided to make our own in case Jeff
King wants his equipment back.
